CRUISING
Oregon’s oldest yacht club had its beginnings in 1908 as the Willamette Motor Boat Club, and remains to this day the favorite for many motor boaters. Organized cruises began as early as the early 1920s, when club members travelled to anchorages on local rivers and downriver on the Columbia River as far as Ilwaco, WA.
Annual club cruises include:
St. Patrick’s Day
Memorial Day
The traditional Men’s Cruise
Fourth of July
Labor Day
Bald Eagle Days in quaint Cathlamet, WA,
The Down-the-River cruise
A rendezvous in the Puget Sound region
The late summer cruise to Beacon Rock
Many other non-hosted cruises to the Club’s Outstation on Sauvie Island
