Portland Yacht Club members have reciprocal privileges with Willamette Sailing Club which includes more than standard yacht club reciprocal privileges.  Club members and family may take sailing classes in WSC's nationally recognized program at WSC member prices. Sail classes may be taken in the spring, summer or fall, and include classes for adults.  Willamette Sailing Club is located on the Willamette River minutes south of downtown Portland.

Portland Yacht Club also has a separate nonprofit corporation called PYC Youth Sailing Scholarship.  This nonprofit grants financial assistance to applicant kids taking organized sailing classes.  This is funded by donations.  Applicants for these scholarships need not be family members of PYC members nor are required to be associated with any yacht club.
