Established in 1908, Portland Yacht Club holds the distinction of Oregon’s oldest yacht club. The organization started as the vision of four individuals, and now hosts over 430 memberships, with a mix of power boaters, sailors, and social members, all sharing a mutual desire of being on or near the water. 2026 marks Portland Yacht Club’s 100th anniversary of its current location on the Columbia River.

Experience Portland Yacht Club

Climb aboard and experience Opening Day, one of our most time-honored traditions. Opening Day is when Portland Yacht Club shows off its nautical heritage, competing very successfully for Columbia River Yachting Association awards for the fleet, its décor and its seamanship as club boats pass in review. Hear about the member journey first-hand from families, social members, former club leadership, and our club historian.

There’s something for everyone at the Portland Yacht Club! We offer membership categories for every lifestyle, from experienced sailors, casual cruisers, families and children, and all others. Our friendly Membership Committee is available to facilitate sponsorship and will welcome you to the Portland Yacht Club family.

Explore

Participate in year-round excursions to our private Outstation, Beacon Rock, Cathlamet, Astoria, and Puget Sound region. The Outstation is a private oasis for our members with access to beaches, a pavilion with kitchen, bathrooms, shower, party float, and moorage space for over 40 boats. Social members are invited to attend all scheduled cruises.

Take in the relaxing views of the Columbia River as you sip your favorite beverage in our full-service bar and restaurant. Choose from the dining room, ballroom lounge, the intimate Kelly Bar, or our expansive outdoor patio for special occasions or just a relaxing afternoon or evening.
